IST's products praised for their performance

IST (UK) specialises in the supply and support of UV printing and curing systems for the printing industry, including LED-UV and LE-UV retrofits.

IST (UK) will show conventional UV, LED-UV and LE-UV and Hot Swap units for dry sheet delivery on litho presses of all makes and formats. LED is only just making headway in the UK but it is technology that offers the minimal energy use and, with 72 of these IST units already installed globally, the outlook for this technology is very strong.

Short-listed last year in both the Stationers’ Company Innovation Excellence Awards and the British Coatings Federation Awards, IST’s products (conventional UV, LED-UV and LE-UV) have won praise for their performance, flexibility (for instance with the hybrid HotSwap system) and environmental credentials (as seen in the XT8 Booster which gives 30% more power without any increase in driver current).

Hot Swap technology allows sheetfed, web or narrow web printers to run both UV and LED-UV on one machine and to switch quickly and easily between UV lamps and LED arrays. IST (UK) works closely with OEMs but also offers a price competitive retrofit service, ideal for those wanting to take an initial step into dry sheet technology. Joint managing directors Chris Schofield and Simon Mitchell will be on hand to demonstrate or discuss drying issues across commercial, packaging and labels markets.

IST (UK) expects to meet decision-makers from printers of all sizes and to hold high end discussions with them about drying solutions that will safeguard and optimise their competitiveness. Dry sheet technology has taken off and no business can afford to ignore the improvement in turnaround times, efficiency and aesthetic lift that the various UV technologies provide.

LED-UV is gaining ground and printers need to be able to have the performance-cost knowledge to make an informed decision about that option vis a vis LE-UV, LED or conventional UV.

Chris Schofield, joint managing director of IST (UK), says: “The Print Week brand is very strong and attracts an enormous number of key people in the industry, decision-makers who visit the show to glean tips that will drive efficiency and profitability in their businesses. We had great success as a result of attending the show last year and anticipate some really positive response again this time round.”
